A local jewelry store that had a reputation for being one of the city’s best known Black owned stores is closing.
Sam’s Club opened in 2013 in the former home of Black Lives Matter activist DeRay McKesson.
The store is still open to the public, but is now located in the vacant Sears building at 2nd and Market.
Sams Club is one of two stores on the Eastside of Atlanta that were shuttered in December due to low inventory.
The other store is in the downtown business district, and is owned by local jewelry chain Ninkyo.
Sam s club closed on Dec. 30.
The Sam s Club location on Market and Market was closed in January for the second time in two years.
